Obituary of Frances Rose Toney

TONEY, Frances Rose “Franny” – age 68 of Toronto, formerly, Indian Brook, Nova Scotia. The wild and free spirit of Franny was called home on May 13, 2024. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Toney and Dr. Isabelle Knockwood.

Frances leaves behind her children; Stephanie Toney, Benjamin (Destinee) Toney and Samantha Gloade; 17 grandchildren; great granddaughter, Ilyah; sisters, Ivy and Val Toney; brother, Karl Shay.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her children, Melvin Toney, Ivy Rose Toney, and Alan “Burt” Toney; brothers, Alfred and Joseph Toney. 

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm on both Tuesday May 21st and Wednesday May 22nd, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A Traditional graveside service will be held at 10am on Thursday May 23rd, 2024, at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Indian Brook.
