Kelley Griffiths

Obituary of Kelley Jane Griffiths

GRIFFITHS, KELLEY JAYNE - age 63, of Truro, passed away in the loving embrace of her three children on May 14th, 2024, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Sheet Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Isa (Henley) Leslie.

A graduate of the Maritime Secretarial Academy, she spent many years working as a machinist, having broken barriers for women in factory trades. An athlete in her youth, Kelley dedicated over a decade of her adult summers to coaching youth soccer teams in Stewiacke. Never losing her love of sport, she was an avid fan of the Calgary Flames, Toronto Blue Jays, and New England Patriots.

Even in her final days, Kelley's quick wit and sense of humour never diminished, endearing her to those who were caring for her, and reminding those visiting just what a special person she was.

Kelley is survived by her children, Bryce, Kaitlyn (Ian), Dwight (Selena); siblings, Brian (Patsy), Kim (Elizabeth), Colin, Cindy (Brian), Trevor (Janice), and Shonda Lynn; many nieces and nephews; and special grandpuppy, Griff.

Besides her parents, Kelley was predeceased by her husband, Brian Griffiths; and her beloved pomeranian, Sparky.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Arla Johnson officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment will take place at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville.

Donations in memory of Kelley may be made to the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Palliative care team, hospital staff, and many friends and family for their care and support during this time.
