Obituary of Pierrette Gabrielle Blok
BLOK (nee Geoffroy) Pierrette Gabrielle – age 83 of Elmsdale, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, in the QEII Infirmary, Halifax, surrounded by her loved ones, notably her grandson, Pieter.
Born in Ramore, Ontario, Pierrette’s roots were deeply ingrained in Holtyre, Ontario, where she spent her formative years. Her education at the Rideau Street Convent in Ottawa fostered a profound connection with her faith, which she cherished throughout her life.
Pierrette was the beloved wife of the late Pieter Blok (2004) and the cherished daughter of the late Herve and Gabrielle (LaSalle) Geoffroy. She reunites with her late brother, Jean-Claude “Jeff” Geoffroy. She leaves behind brothers, Francois (Lisette) Geoffroy, Gilles (Charmaine) Geoffroy; sisters, Nicole (Robert Burdick), Vivianne (Ted Culhane), Louise (Richard Jozefaki); numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of lifelong friends.
Pierrette is survived by her loving sons, Mark (Selina) Blok and Dwight (Ginette) Blok; her adoring grandchildren, Aaron, Erika, Jennifer (Cam) and Pieter.
Pierrette had a long-standing tenure as the Reeve of Black-River Matheson, admired and respected by the entire community. Pierrette also had an unwavering commitment to the Catholic Women’s League reflecting her devout faith.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. A funeral mass in Pierrette’s honour will be held at 10 am on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Enfield, Nova Scotia, followed by her interment in St. Laurent Cemetery in Ramore, Ontario, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
