Cathy (Catherine) - My condolences to you and the Kellough family.
I have many memories of Babe but the one that stands out when I think of her is Babe doing a "little jig" dancing around her big country kitchen while something wonderful was cooking/baking in the oven. I'm certain she is dancing now.
Babe was a caring, sweet lady with a huge personality and she will live in our hearts forever.
Catherine - your dedication and love for Babe over the years is heartwarming and inspiring. She was blessed to have you and her fur-babies by her side.
Love from our family: Brenda Duggan, Lorne Marsh, Shannon and Ben xo

Betty, Kathy, Millie and David. We were so sad to get the word today that dear Babe had passed away. Wayne and I will always be grateful for how Babe and Gordon opened their home and life for us when we moved to Shubenacadie. Always will remember all the fun we had, the snowmobile trips, the pies Babe made every weekend, the eggs, cake decorating, when David got a motorcycle and Wayne thought he could drive it and did right across the road into the ditch on the other side, lol..Oh my, all those days were the happiest days of our lives and you four kids added to that too. You all were such a big part of our lives and our kids lives and these memories and love for your family will last forever. Wayne and Nancy Dickie

Sincere condolences to ALL of Babe's family!
Dear sweet, kind Babe, next door to our home.
Did not learn of your loss until Last night and had planned to attend today, then WINTER arrived.
We have memories galore of times spent with Babe, Gordon & The Dickies at their home and also the snowmobile barn. Our children remember...
Babe had cake decorating classes, where I was introduced to ladies of Shubenacadie, which I was grateful for. Babe always had plenty of food to share as she was always baking!!! We always had fresh eggs, even delivered boxes to Halifax, weekly. We had so much fun with Betty, David, Cathy & Millie (our babysitter).... then with Betty & Brian and their Jo Leigh & Mark. Babe was always a happy person and looked after everyone with a happy smile, adored her family....... We also remember helping to round up their cattle that were running around our house, Betty taught me HOW to do it. I thought it was great fun showing the children to watch out the window, while Ken said " you have to look at the holes in the lawns. " That was funny!!!
Babe was a familiar sight in Shubenacadie, she knew most everyone, and will be missed by many.
Babe will always be remembered by our family as the " nice lady that always talks to us."
You will be in our thoughts during this difficult time. Sincerely
Ken, Hazel, Todd, Michelle & Vicki.

Dear Betty Lou, David, Cathy, and Millie,
Our sincere condolences to you and your families on the passing of your dear mother, Babe.
She had a great sense of humour with a bit of naughtiness thrown in. She enjoyed a good laugh and a good chat. We’re sure you will miss her.
I (Mike) remember the time in 1965 when our families travelled together on the train to Montreal to see a hockey game between the Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings. I don’t remember a whole lot about the game or what team won but we had a ball getting there and back on CN Rail. Your mom was one of the stars of the entire trip. We had a great time with a lot of laughs, stories and funny antics.
Our sympathies to you on your great loss.
With love and friendship,
Mike and Claudette

We were saddened to hear of Babe’s passing. She was such a kind, warm person with a great sense of humour. I remember her kindness when she hosted a bridal shower before Leonard and I were married. She regularly would call to tell Leonard to drop by, I have a pie for him. One of my fondest memories was when I was driving home after work, there was Babe sweeping the dirt from her driveway! Cleanliness was so important to her. Our thoughts are with Cathy, Betty, Brian and all the family.
