Obituary of Grant Lowell Ashley

ASHLEY, Grant Lowell – age 85, of Dutch Settlement, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2023, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Dutch Settlement he was a son of the late Elmer and Viola (Isenor) Ashley.

Grant was a talented carpenter who loved building things and could “fix anything”. He could spend hours in the garage tinkering around. He enjoyed going to Truro Bearcats hockey games, driving his 4-wheeler and camping trips in his younger years. Grant loved spending time with his family especially when it came to the kids, whom he spoiled.

Grant is survived by his sisters, Earlene, and Sandra (Ira); many nieces and nephews; great nieces, Ashley (Kenny) and Erin (Johnson).

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his siblings, Warren, Reg, Don, Lenna and Pansy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday May 4th, 2024, at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Dutch Settlement. Rev. Dr. Jane Magrath Officiating. Following the graveside the family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Community Hall for a Celebration of Grant’s Life.

The family would like to thank the Homecare team from Northwood, Pramid and the staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
