Obituary of James Tidgwell

TIDGWELL, James William "Jim" - age 67, Oakfield, passed away peacefully on his 44th wedding anniversary, March 7, 2014, at the VG Site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, surrounded by his loving wife and four children, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 14, 1946 in Goodwood, NS, he was the son of the late Harold and Alice (Buffet) Tidgwell. Jim grew up in Lower Sackville and resided in Oakfield for the past 41 years. An electrician by trade, he was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 625. Jim enjoyed travel, reading, NASCAR racing and trivia. He will be missed by his loving and dedicated wife and best friend, Maureen (Wilson), children, Lisa, Karen (Edwin), Darryl (Angela) and Stephen, grandson Avery James (his little buddy). He is survived by siblings Elsie (Ray), Ronald (Judy), Elizabeth, and Donna (Charles). He was predeceased by an infant sister Joan. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held 7-9pm Monday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral will be held 11am Tuesday March 11, 2014 in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Frank Pellerin presiding. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
