Obituary of Andrew Patrick McDowell
McDOWELL, Andrew Patrick “Bucky” - age 79, passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, Truro, Nova Scotia. Born in England, he was the son of the late John and Betty (Fitzgerald) McDowell.
In his early years, Bucky worked in the woods and Basin Contracting on the paving crew. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bucky spent a lot of his time with good friend Ernie Dillman, who was such a great help when Bucky got sick. Special thanks to you Ernie.
Bucky is survived by his siblings, Gary (Mary), Sandra "Janie" (Tom) Miller, Helen MacDonald, Peter, Mark (Robin); stepsons, Darrell (Margaret) Mauger, Everett (Kathy) Mauger; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary; sister-in-law, Debbie; brother-in-law, Louis MacDonald; longtime partner, Joan Mauger; stepson, Graham Mauger.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on Monday October 2nd, 2023, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Words of Remembrance of Bucky will begin at 3pm. Following the Celebration there will be an interment at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
Donations made in Bucky’s memory can be made to the Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
