Obituary of Gary Robert Miller

Please share a memory of Gary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MILLER, Gary Robert, “Merb” - 76, Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after losing his brief battle with cancer and congestive heart disease. In his younger years, he was an avid sportsman, playing a goal tender in hockey, and playing baseball where he earned the honour of induction into the 2015 East Hants Heritage Sports Hall of Fame, playing for the Enfield Legionnaires.  He also coached various teams throughout the years. Later in life, Merb found joy in simpler pleasures, such as playing TV bingo and basking in the warm embrace of the sun. Born in Lantz,  he was the youngest son of the late Lawrence “Bub” and Annie (Blois) Miller. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Lornie. Merb is survived by his children Tracy Levy (Todd), KerriAnn Elliott (Jason), and Stephen Miller (Jennifer), as well as his grandchildren Carly Levy Blenkhorn (Kent), Rylee Levy, Connor Elliott, Luke Miller, and Wyatt Elliott, along with his great-grandchild, Alister Levy Blenkhorn. Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Ettinger Funeral Home. As per his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside committal service will be held at the Lantz Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  We would like to thank the excellent team in the ICU and Palliative care at the Truro hospital.
