EDWARDS, Ethel -97, Hammonds Plains, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away February 14, 2014 in White Hills Long Term Care Centre, Hammonds Plains. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Jane (Pickford) Heap. Ethel, Norman and children emigrated to Toronto from England in 1952. She was a supervisor at the Connaught Laboratories in Toronto. After her husband retired in 1973 they moved to Nova Scotia to be closer to family. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Christine (Edwards) Woods, Dartmouth; granddaughter Rachael Woods (Derek Horseman), Dartmouth; grandson, Conor Woods, Dartmouth. She is also survived by granddaughter, Kim Edwards-Fukei, Seattle, Washington; grandson, Robin Edwards, London, England. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Edwards, son Norman Jr., son-in-law Anthony John Woods. Funeral service will be held 11am, Wednesday February 19, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Father Tom Kurudeepan OMI officiating. Reception following the service. Spring interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Middle Musquodoboit. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and the compassion shown towards Ethel by the staff and volunteers at White Hills.
