WIER, Donald Benjamin – age 87 of Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2023 at Northwood, Bedford. Born in North Salem, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy (Laffin) Wier.

Donald was a hardworking man who was devoted to his job. On his days off from work, you could find him going to dances or going on camping trips.

Donald is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Wilfred (Marie), David, Carl (Joanne); grandchildren, Jason, Glen, Devin, Derek, Nick and Doug; great grandchildren, Chloe, Casey, Zoey, Rachel; siblings, Jamie and Vera; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Nancy.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on Thursday June 22, 2023, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie. A graveside service will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
