Obituary of Lois Elaine Laffin

LAFFIN, Lois Elaine – 67, of Mill Village, passed away on May 15, 2023 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with her daughter, Nancy by her side. Born in Mill Village, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Grace (Houle) Parker.

Lois worked as a waitress and cashier, and everyone loved mom for her kindness. She could brighten a room with her smile, and she was kind to everyone she met. She had a funny sense of humour, and she lived her life to the fullest everyday. She always made you feel welcome.  She loved her family more than anything in the world, especially her grandsons. She was their biggest fan and loved spending as much time with them as she could. She loved attending family functions and seeing everyone.

Lois is survived by her husband, Blair Laffin; children, Ernie (Michelle), Nancy; grandchildren, Christopher and Logan; siblings, Stella (Joe) Leckie, Carol (George) Mason; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Faye Laffin.

She was predeceased by sisters, Shirley, Della; brother, Bobby; father-in-law, Harris Laffin.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

 At Lois’s request there will be no visitation.  A Celebration of Life will be held 2-4pm, Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Shubenacadie.

Special thanks to the nurses at the PCU at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their exceptional care and compassion.

Donations may be made to Kids Sport or the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.
