Q: What will you never forget about Irene?
A: I will never forget her smile. No matter what time of day or night you met her she always had the most beautiful smile.
I remember sitting around the kitchen table having tea and always a sweet to go with it.
One particular evening we were sitting around the table talking about what characters she was going to cut out and she wanted a cut out of tin Lizzy. Now I never had a clue what tin Lizzy was, by didn’t she laugh at me. But she certainly told me what tin Lizzy was, and from that day on. That was what she called me.
She was the most beautiful Lady, who would do anything for anyone whether she met you for an hour or known you for years.
Brenda, I wish I was their with you all today. I may not be there in person, but certainly with you at heart.
As your Dad would say, see you in the funny papers.
