Kelsey Ann Lloyd (June 20, 1992 – April 17, 2023)

"Fly away our sweet angel, at last in a place free of pain, free to walk and talk."

Our beloved Kelsey Ann Lloyd, unexpectedly passed away on April 17th, 2023. Kelsey bravely dealt with many physical challenges throughout her life, but was always a happy, smiling, and cheerful girl. Although Kelsey could not talk, she made a lasting impression on all those who knew her with her spirit, humour, gentle nature, and beautiful blue eyes. Kelsey was the light of our family's life and will be forever missed.

Kelsey is survived by her loving parents, Ann and Arnie Lloyd. To know the Lloyd family and see their unwavering, dedication, and wonderful care they provided to their daughter, was a miracle to bear witness to. When you saw Kelsey with her parents, you just knew you were seeing something very special. Their goal, each and every day, was to make Kelsey comfortable, happy and to see her big bright smile followed by her infectious laughter. Although Kelsey didn’t speak, she laughed often. Loud, strong, and deep belly laughs that left everyone around her delighted and wanting more. She was an angel put on this earth to teach us all about strength, resilience, and the power of a family’s love.

Also left to grieve are Kelsey's grandmothers, Judy Kozera and Rose Fleiger, her uncles, Robert (Margo) Kozera, Tony (Cheryl) Lloyd, David (Kim) Lloyd and Barry (Margaret) Lloyd; her aunts, Julie (Patrick) Alexander, Patty (Dave) Lewicki and Becky (Stephen) Jenkins.  Also, to be deeply missed by her cousins, Hannah and Nicholas Alexander, Matthew and Kira Lloyd and Robert and Sonya (Lloyd) McCrea.

She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Bernie Kozera and Gampy Frank;  and her Aunt Sheri Kozera.

The family would like to thank the staff at the IWK and the QEII for all of their care during Kelsey’s many stays in hospital. Doctors, nurses, and medical teams, you made Kelsey’s stay bearable and comfortable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Further thanks to Kelsey’s Northwood homecare workers and all the teachers, EAs and bus driver during her school years.

Cremation has taken place, no visitation or funeral by request. A celebration of Kelsey’s life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the IWK Health Foundation or to the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park in memory of Kelsey.
