Obituary of John Wayne Scothorn

SCOTHORN, John Wayne – age 75, of Hardwoodlands passed away on March 16^th, 2023 at home. Born in Truro, on October 29, 1947, he was a son of the late Reginald and Edna (Kelly) Scothorn.

John was a grateful member of A.A. for 40 years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting with his buddy Pat. John will be greatly missed by many.

John is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gail (Patterson); daughter, Kelly Greeno; son, Kenny Scothorn; 10 grandchildren, Johnathan Greeno, Mickayla Greeno, Laura Greeno (Kenny), Bradley Greeno, Brent Greeno, Jesse Scothorn (Rene), Samantha Scothorn (Tyler), Kaylee Scothorn, Lydia Scothorn, Ella Scothorn; 2 great grandsons, Jordan and Noah Greeno; sister, Norma Howlett; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by sister, Frances Frame; brothers, Reg and Alf; brothers in law, Donnie Frame and Reg Howlett; sister in law, Jean Scothorn.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2pm on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Hardwoodlands Community Hall, 8110 Highway 14, Hardwoodlands, B0N 1Y0. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of John to AA or C.O.P.D. for a cure.
