GOOD OL’ BUDDY RED
HAVE YOU EVER MET GOOD OL’ BUDDY RED?
HE’S A JOLLY, COOL FELLOW, THAT’S WHAT THEY SAID
HE’D ALWAYS ASK YOU IF THERE’S ANYTHING NEW
EVEN IF YOU JUST TOLD HIM A MINUTE AGO OR TWO
BUT SEE, THAT’S WHAT MAKES HIM SPECIAL TO EVERYONE HE MEETS
BECAUSE HE’LL MAKE YOU FEEL YOU’RE HIS BUDDY FOR KEEPS
WHEN HE SEES YOU, HIS FACE GLOWS UP
HE WAVES HIS HAND AND WOULD NEVER STOP
AND AS YOU GO TO HIM, HE WON’T EVER FRET
HE’LL JUST TELL YOU, “I HAVEN’T HAD A CIGGY-YET”
GOOD OL’ BUDDY RED LOVES HIS MUSIC
YOU’LL DELIGHT HIM MORE IF YOU KNOW THE LYRICS
IN HIS OWN WAY, HE’S ALREADY A CELEBRITY
EVEN IF HE IS THE BIGGEST FAN OF CONWAY TWITTY
HE’S MADE THE BEST MEMORIES WITH THE PEOPLE HE KNEW
AND IT WOULDN’T MATTER IF YOU’RE OLD OR NEW
JUST GIVE HIM A FIST BUMP AND TELL A FUNNY STORY
AND HE’LL LET YOU HEAR HIS FAMOUS “MMM…YEEEAAAH!”
MANY THINGS ABOUT HIM MIGHT BE LEFT UNTOLD
BUT HIS STORIES WITH MANY WILL CONTINUE TO UNFOLD
HE IS THAT MAN WHO WILL NEVER EVER BE FORGOTTEN
BECAUSE THERE CAN BE NO OTHER MAN LIKE HIM…
NO OTHER MAN LIKE ELDON.
In memory of Eldon Maynard ‘RED’ Hughes

Sorry to read of Eldon’s passing. We knew him for so many years. He was a happy go lucky fellow and the R.C.M.P. Officers in Stewiacke were exceptional friends to him. Rip Eldon.

Add " A " memory it says.....
There are just So many to choose from.
I think I was 9 yrs old when I first met Red, my parents knew him in their teenage yrs in Truro. Red was a permanent fixture at the NSLC for many many yrs, the one you could always count on, whether it was for a car wash, a trip to the store for break time snacks, a mail run or a trustworthy friend to run to the bank and cash all the employees paychecks. Red was my personal protector, there were a few occasions I would have to call him back before he was ready to hit someone who he thought was threatening me. Any time I saw that look and his fist start to tighten I would quickly let him know they were joking and he would always say " 1 tap
Sulwe( Shelly)and 1 2 3 lights out, call the morgue " Thanks Buddy, you always had my back. A True Friend, I will miss you more than you could ever image.
Love
Shelly Curtis
