Obituary of Brenda Lee MacKenzie

MACKENZIE, Brenda Lee – age 60 of Stewiacke, passed away on February 4^th, 2023 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Enfield, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Diane (Carroll) MacDonnell.

Brenda was very family oriented; she was an amazing stay at home mom, grandmother and community mother. She loved cooking especially for family gatherings, where she was happy to enjoy time well spent with the family. Brenda was very proud of her five boys and her 10 grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Danny; sons, Daniel (Amy), Phil (Jenna), Mike (Lindsay), Josh (Rachelle), Steve (Chelsea); grandchildren, Kaleb, Logan, Xavier, Talon, Ashton, Leah, Hunter, Reid, Stevie, Dani; brothers, Willie (Betty), Joey (Cathy), Donnie (Carolyn), Ronnie (Michelle); numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on March 6^th, 2023, at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A reception is to follow at the Stewiacke Fire Hall from 1pm to 3pm. Burial will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Brenda may be made to the Cancer Society of Canada.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the VON team, Palliative care team, Brenda’s family doctor and many friends and family for their care and support during this time.
