Obituary of Gaius Irving Wilband

WILBAND, Gaius Irving, age 79, of Gays River, passed away July 6, 2022, in Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Gays River, he was a son of the late Ervin and Hazel (Collins) Wilband. 

Gaius loved playing cards, enjoyed working on cars, attending classic car shows and bowling. He was a social person and loved hugs. 

He will be sadly missed by sons, Dan (Diane) and Stanley, daughter, Danelta (Pete); grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth), David (Kayla) Deanna, Dwight, Denise (Patrick), Darren and Danielle; many great grandchildren; partner Clara Bourque; sisters Ethel, Beverly and Myrtle, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.   Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother John. 

 Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 9th, 2022 at Gays River United Church, Rev. Natalie Buchanan- Rutherford officiating.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
