BROOKS, Calvin Adam- age 51, of Indian Brook. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce they sudden passing of an amazing son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend on March 5, 2022.  Calvin was born to Constance Brooks in the spring of 1970, April 6th.

Calvin was always on the move never slowing down only to stop and read something and to start a new goal. Though he did not finish school; he was an entrepreneur and mastered anything he put his mind to. He had many jobs under his belt from carpenter to fisherman to store manager. Calvin was very easy going and made friends anywhere he went. He was a very helpful and generous man that would give you the shirt off his back. He would help anyone and never wanted anything in return. He truly was a special man. Calvin loved his family; he loved his many friends. He also loved fishing; it did not matter if it was river or open ocean. He fished with family as often as he could with nieces and nephews, Sheyanne (Oliver) Francis, Jonathan (Angela) Paul, Darren Jr. (Haley) Marshall, Dustan (Ashley) Marshall. He was willing to teach anyone about fishing that was willing to learn. He was a very hardworking man, everyday of his life. He was the “jack of all trades”. Calvin was humble, humorous and always helpful when needed, it did not matter who or what or if, it was just advice. He was always there for anyone. Many cousins grew up close to Calvin like brothers and sisters

Calvin is survived by his mother, Constance Brooks; wife of 30 years, Colleen Paul; Calvin’s name will live on with his children, Jill (C.J.), Jalessa Brooks, Calvin Jr. Brooks, and Alaura along with grandchildren, Kaleirah, Zailyn. Azariyah, Cavin, Nash and Anylah; godparents, Mary Jane and John Brooks. Also surviving are brothers, Henry (Rhonda) and Benjamin Brooks; sisters, Selena Brooks (Alex Julian) all of Indian Brook; brothers in-law, Richard “Dickie” Paul, John “Bo” Paul (Carrie), Greg (Nicole) Paul; sisters in-law, Sandra Paul, Lorrie (Peter) Paul, Christine (Dudley) Paul and Lisa (Toby) Marshall; Aunts, Patricia “Patsy” Brooks, Eileen Brooks, Catherine (Glen) Lesly, Genevieve Paul, Mary Brooks; Nieces and nephews, James Brooks (Godson), Malehya Murray, Sophie Brooks,

Sekewa’t Francis, Oeligisgag Francis, Gesaltingawei Francis, Dustin Marshall, Darren Marshall, Jonathan Paul, Abe Paul, Lainey Marshall, Charlene Francis, Shyeanne Francis, Tracy Paul, Sharon Paul, Vicky paul, Nakita Paul, Katrina Paul, Dakota Paul, Cherisse Bourgeau, Melissa White, Shawn Nason, Bittany Sack, Devin Paul, Savannah Paul, Jaci Paul; many cousins that’s were more like brothers and sisters; Desmond “Desi” Brooks, Alexander “Sandy” Brooks, Franklin “Frankie” Brooks, Paul ‘Paulie” Brooks, Tamera “Tammy” Peter-Paul, Sherry Googoo, Cynthia “Cindy” Sanchez, Vinvient “Vinny” Brooks, Tammy Peter-Paul, Vanessa, Janis Paul, Rose Paul, Dawn Paul.

Calvin was predeceased by grandparents, Christine and Benjamoin Brooks, Uncles, David Brooks, Victor Brooks; cousins, John McKay Jr., and Sonya Brooks.

Visitation will be held beginning 6pm Tuesday, March 8th in Sipekne’katik Community Centre, Indian Brook until time of service at 11am Thursday March 10th in St. Kateri’s Roman Catholic Church, Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

We would like to thank anyone who has helped us in our time of sorrow. We appreciate everything that you have all done. Thank you with all our hearts.
