He also was the President of NS Senior Hockey League during the prominent Allen Cup winning period of the 1990’s.

After his retirement Gerry spent his time giving back to the community as a founding member and curator of the Shubenacadie Tin Smith Museum. He was a crowd favourite cast member each year in the annual St. James Anglican Parish Dinner Theatre and sang in the church choir every Sunday.

In recent years Gerry (aka Godder) enjoyed watching his grandsons play ball and hockey travelling across Canada. He loved spending time with his great grandson, Maximus, and feeding treats to Bentley the beagle.

Gerry is survived by his loving wife, Anne; son, Todd (Anita); stepchildren, Carol, Sheila, Judy, John, and Elaine; grandsons, Tyler and Chandler; great grandson, Maximus; and a large extended family.
