Obituary of Les Jayasinghe
JAYASINGHE Jerome Leslie of Truro, formerly of Shubenacadie passed away May 10, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, at 93 years of age. Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, he was the son of the late Elsie (DeSilva) and the late Wilfred Jayasinghe.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Loring) Jayasinghe; his children, Gary (Jacquelyn) Jayasinghe, Lantz; Virginia (David) Fraser, Dartmouth; Elizabeth (Mark) Wilcox, Valley; four grandchildren: Andrew McWatch, Dartmouth; Patrick (Courtney) Jayasinghe, Truro; Devon Wilcox, Labrador; Brandon Wilcox, Truro; and great-grandchildren, Paisley and Hudson. He is also survived by numerous relatives in Sri Lanka.
He was pre-deceased by his parents.
Les’ greatest pride were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was an avid golfer. His favorite place was the 9th hole of the Truro golf course. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. “It never rains on the golf course”- as that is where he always loved to be.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per Les’ wishes there will be no service.
