I remember my grampy so much. He was a loving person. I'd always call to talk to him, and see how he is doing, and how his day was. He'd always ask how I was doing, and how my day was. He was very loving, and I'd always end my calls with him by telling him I love him so much, and he'd always tell me the same. I'm happy to have spent so much time with him. He recently visited me and my Mom & Stepdad, and I'm so happy to have had that opportunity to see him. I recall how he and my Nanny would often drive down to Dartmouth to visit me during my days off of work, and they would take me to the mall or to Costco for shopping, they'd take me out to lunch, and they would give me some money to keep me afloat during the week, and I really appreciated it all. But the best part of those days was just spending time with them. I'm gonna miss my grampy so much. He lived a good life, surrounded by those he loved, especially my Nanny.

Condolences from the Paul De Silva descendants (Uncle Leslie's maternal grandfather)
1. Sad to hear of your dad's passing Gary, Virginia and Elizabeth, my deepest sympathies to Aunt Mary, all of you and your dear families. Do take comfort that Uncle Leslie is in the hands of the lord and is at peace now with his dear departed family. May his dear soul Rest in Peace!
(Hong Kong) Mirani – Cecil – Daisy – Paul
2. Uncle Les loved life, he loved his family, a very community minded person a much-respected person in the community he did whatever that needed doing without ever looking for accolades.
Since I met him in 1969 in Sri Lanka, I became very fond of him. He was then working & living in Iran as a avionics engineer and was the preferred engineer for any flights that the Shah of Iran was on. My understanding was that if uncle Les was not available the shah did not fly, that’s the respect he had.
Golf was his game and loved it, there wasn’t a day in summer that he didn’t play golf. He even played a game of 9 holes on his 93rd birthday with his grandson Patrick & that wasn’t long ago. The last time I visited him was in 2016 he looked good for his age, but had been diagnosed with a serious ailment and was undergoing treatment. He never complained about it but said that he had a wonderful wife and family and a great life and if his life ended that day “so what”!! I kept in touch with him on the phone having long chats. He was so happy that I was able to surprise him on his 90th birthday at the appointed time on Skype and he said “Ajit you made my day”!! I loved him for who he was and will miss him no doubt.
“You are now at peace having lived your dream, in the safety of your maker and the brothers and sisters that went before, you are leaving behind the last member of the family, brother Rohan.
God bless you uncle Les, till we meet again one day, goodbye!”
