Gary and I went to Cornwallis (Basic Training) together starting on the 24 Sept 1979. I did spend one weekend in Truro with him during one of our few weekends of during our training. Gary carried on to Shilo, Manitoba for his trades training and it happened that I for posted to Shilo on my first posting a year later. We lost track of each other after Shilo but did speak on the phone once 6 years ago. RIP Gary

I have a lot of fond memories of Gary, but I will always remember him for being a prankster and trying to make you laugh. Gary was so proud of Susie and the boys. They are all he could talk about. He loved sharing stories from his careers, as well as his hobby with the trains.
I loved your visits to Manitoba and being able to catch up with you even for a quick visit.
Rest In Peace Gary you and the smile will be forever missed

Hello Carolyn, Shirley, Joanne Darlene and families. I didn’t know Gary but so very sorry that your families are going through such sadness, especially in these trying times. Reading his obituary, it sounds as though he really enjoyed his life with family. That’s his Mum and Dad all over again. How I enjoyed Ruth’s sense of fun and the funny talks we had after my Mum died. I’m quite certain the Joudrey/Wasson sense of humour and family memories will get you through Gary’s passing. As always, Norberta Yarn.

I was in total shock this morning when I read Garys obituary in the paper. My sincere condolences over your tragic loss. I was just speaking with Gary last week about him driving a Chev and couldn't afford a Ford Truck. This was our running joke whenever I saw him at the Co-Op. We just lately started some good talks on gardening and he was telling me of a certain variety of potatoes he and his family always grew. Asked me if I wanted to plant some, sort of like a competition. Gary was a wonderful man, would do anything for you. A true gentleman and I am so sorry he was taken from us at such an early age. The world lost on this one. Gary will stay in my heart and mind for a long time to come.

I served with Gary in Germany and the man always brightened my day and made me laugh. Gary also had a heart of gold making sure the single members always got a holiday meal with his family. Gary, you were a good friend and co-worker and will be truly missed. Condolences to Sue and the boys.

I served with Gary as a trucker in the Forces in Shearwater. I lost track of him until many years later, was in the Co Op in Milford and he helped me load top soil in my truck... after thinking, geez, I know that face from somewhere, we finally both recognized each other and he ended up helping me out a few times with yard work. I was shocked, as is always the case when you learn of the passing of a brother, a friend... my condolences to your family, Gary and I have shed a tear for you...RIP
