DYER (WEBSTER), Helen Kirkaldy, 95- Upper Nine Mile River, passed away peacefully November 16, 2013 at home. Born in Cupar, Fife, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Norman George Brown Webster and Jeannie (Kirkaldy) Webster. Helen attended St. Andrew's University, Scotland, and graduated B.Sc(chem) and B.Ed. She immigrated to Canada with her late husband, Victor James Dyer. Helen taught science (chemistry) at Prince Arthur Jr. High School in Dartmouth and Chester High School in Chester. She designed and set up the science programs for the Dartmouth School Board. Helen was a lover of animals and gardening. She loved to dance and she adored her family. She is survived by daughters, Jennifer Ann Fried (Eric White) and Elizabeth Penelope (Barry) McGuigan and by grandsons Michael James Dyer McGuigan, David Evan (Sylvie)McGuigan and Kevin Kirkaldy McGuigan, expected great granddaughter, Olivia McGuigan. She was predeceased by her husband Victor and a younger brother James Webster. At Helen's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Memorial donations may be made to the the MS Society of Canada.
