Obituary of Ivan Leslie Jennings

JENNINGS, Ivan Leslie, age 97, of Middle Musquodoboit, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021 at Musquodoboit Valley Braeside Home for Special Care. 

 

Ivan was born in Higginsville on May 4, 1923 to parents John and Inez Jennings. 

 

Ivan was a veteran of WWII and served overseas.  He and his family farmed in Higginsville.  He then became a Commissionaire in Dartmouth and later retired from the construction industry.  In retirement, Ivan, along with his wife Eunice, were caretakers of Higginsville Cemetery. 

 

Ivan was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Eunice Jennings (April, 2019), and brothers Carl, Garnet, Lawrence and Elvin. 

 

He is survived by his son, John Jennings (Karen Martychuk) of Haines Junction, Yukon and grandchildren, Joshua Jennings and Karla Jennings of Whitehorse, Yukon. 

 

Cremation arrangements have been made under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home in Shubenacadie. 

 

A graveside service for Ivan and Eunice will take place at Higginsville Cemetery when Covid-19 travel and gathering restrictions are lifted. 

 

A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff, for the wonderful care you provided Ivan while he was at Braeside, and to Ettinger Funeral Home for accommodating all of our special requests.
