Obituary of Joan Gwendolyn Annand

ANNAND, Joan-age 92 of Fall River passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2020 with Rick, Sharon, Nicole and Taylor by her side after a long battle with dementia. Joan was born October 2, 1928 in Fox Point. She was the daughter of Beulah and Victor Langille.

Joan spent the last 10 years being cared for at home by son, Rick. Joan loved a good game of dice. She had a huge love for Christmas trees, so much so she had her own tree in her room all year round. Joan may not have been able to speak for the past 5 years but she got her point across through her eyes and facial expressions.

Joan had met the love of her life, Fred and had seven children. She is survived by sons, David (Leona), Mt. Uniacke; Ronnie (Carolyn), Mt. Uniacke; Brian (Sue);  Gary; daughter, Sharon all of Wellington; and Rick at home; sister, Viola; brother, Keith (Donna); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Fred; son, Wayne; sister, Helen; brother, Harold. 

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 highway 2, Shubenacadie.

Special thanks to Joan’s former doctor of many years, Dr. Cindy Forbes and current Dr. Elaine Davies. Also the VON nurses, Jill, Susan, Angela, and the Northwood staff for your kindness and care over the years. Also a special thank you to Nicole, her private care worker for the past 4 years for being there for Mom.
