Obituary of Gordon James Labrador

LABRADOR, Gordon James “Buddy Gord” – age 57, of Indian Brook, passed away suddenly at home November 2, 2020.  Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Albert Martin and Rosie Mae Labrador.

Buddy Gord enjoyed fishing and hunting. He spent most of his time helping his life long best friend, Linda with their children, grandchildren and home. He relished time spent with his faithful feline companion, “Timbit donut croissant danish muffin cookie Labrador”. 

He was a storyteller and loved to joke around. He was last employed as a lobster fisherman.

He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Syliboy, Laurena Paul, Alexis Paul, Jessy Paul, Savannah Paul and Felicia Paul; 16 grandchildren and two more on the way; godson, Danny Syliboy; besides his children, he will be missed by his favorite “Child” Timbit the cat ; sisters, Bernice Labrador, Linda Labrador, Sylvia Gould, Valerie Wilmot, Julie Martin,  Roseline Labrador, Anita Paul; brothers, Greg, Angus, Stephen and Chris Labrador; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger and Roddy; sisters, Audrey Syliboy and Josephine Moriarity.

Visitation 6pm, Wednesday, November 4, at 119 Meadow Drive, Indian Brook until time of service 2pm, Saturday, November 7, in St. Kateri Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Ron Cairns, Celebrant. COVID 19 protocols in place; maximum of 50 attendees adhering to social distancing. Cremation will follow.
