RECKER, Ramona Diane – age 74, of Terence Bay, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2020 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary after being diagnosed with cancer.

Ramona was a daughter of the late Lorne Cooke of Goldboro and Ruby (nee Burke) Cooke of Drumhead.

Mona is survived by her son, Peter (Reshma) Cooke and their sons, Arjun and Josha, all of Trinidad; daughter, Vanessa Maddeaux, Hamilton, Ontario; grandson, Khale Tedford-Wright, Halifax; sister, Sandra Rice, Lower Sackville; brother, Gary (Sandra) Cooke, Bedford; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and the extended Recker family.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Cooke; sister, Linda Frail.

One of Mona’s favourite places was Drumhead, spending time in the little house by the ocean that had been her grandmother’s. She loved playing darts and cribbage with her friends. Mona’s personality gave her the strength to endure life’s challenges as well as to celebrate its pleasures. Mona’s favourite past-time was working away in her fabric/craft room.

Mona’s niece, Lorie Geary, would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who called, visited or reached out to Mona during her time in hospital.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.

A Celebration of Mona’s Life will take place 10 am Tuesday August 9, 2022 in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. Glenn Eason officiating.  A committal service will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
