It’s with great sadness that we announce the sudden, yet peaceful passing of John James Childs on March 31, 2020, at his home in Shubenacadie, with his loving wife by his side. 

Left to mourn his loving memory is his wonderful wife Crystal; his loving daughter Desiree and son in-law Blayne Harvey, both of Newfoundland; his wonderful step daughters, Cheyenne (Rory) Dewitt, Alberta, Shelby (Patrick) Wiswell, Shubenacadie, Miranda Burns (Luke), Shubenacadie; grandsons, Carmine and Joaquin, both of Saskatchewan; and Jiovanni of Newfoundland; granddaughter Madelyn, of Alberta; special granddaughter Eleanor, Shubenacadie, his amazing in-laws, Terry and Alfreda Sangster; also left to mourn are his sisters Evangeline (Kenneth) Faith, of Kentucky, Angeline (Phillip) Andreen, Minnesota, Pricilla Benoit, Newfoundland, Margretta (Gary) Smith of Nova Scotia; Isabel (Bill) Strucel, of Ontario; Teri (Fred) Holtan, of Nova Scotia, Vilda Childs, of Ontario and special sister Juanita (Damien) Hull, of Newfoundland; brothers Mark(Laura) Childs, of Newfoundland ,Thomas (Winifred) Childs of Nova Scotia, Solomon (Kathy) Childs of Nova Scotia, Gerard (Anna) Childs, of Nova Scotia, David (Marsha) Childs, of Alberta and Clayton Childs of Newfoundland; also left to mourn are a large circle of extended family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his parents John William T. and Juanita (White) Childs.

In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.  Funeral services being held in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland will be announced at a later date.
