Please share a memory of Hans to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JUSTESEN, Hans "Peter" - 52, Coldstream, passed away peacefully February12, 2013 at home with family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was the only son of the late Peter Justesen Sr. and Marie (Griffiths) Justesen, Coldstream. In the past Peter has worked for the Department of Transportation, Municipality of Colchester County, the Provincial Wildlife Park as well as construction and forestry related endeavors. Peter was above all a devoted and loving husband, father and son. He was fortunate to have so many loyal friends throughout the years. Peter enjoyed spending the life he created with his family on the hobby farm caring for all creatures particularly birds whether domestic or wild. Peter would have wild birds land in his hand and he was jokingly referred to as "The Bird Whisperer". He truly was a farmer at heart and enjoyed the simple pleasures of building something, planting something and watching it thrive. A jack of-all-trades, he was a car enthusiast, a carpenter, a woodsman and a real-go-to guy. Despite life's challenges, Peter always remained a strong and stoic individual. Peter is survived by his love of 30 years Marlene (Clark) Justesen, and children Ashley and Christian (who believed the sun rose and set for him), mother Marie (Griffiths) Justesen, two sisters and their families, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter will be especially missed by his canine companion Frank. He was predeceased by his father Peter C. Justesen. A big thank you to those true-blue friends who were there for the good times as well as a major support during the bad. Thank you to the V.O.N., Palliative Care, Hospice Society and everyone else who touched our lives with their care and concern. Visitation 2-4pm, Saturday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. No Funeral by request. Family and friends may send condolences at: ettingerfuneralhome.com
