BARBRICK, S. Bruce "Bub", Shubenacadie, passed away in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, at the age of 83 on February 13, 2013. Born on January 7, 1930 in Admiral Rock, he was a son of the late Dempster and Eva (Nelson) Barbrick. He was a truck driver all his working life including owning his own business. He became employed with Imperial Oil Distribution Center until his retirement. Bub could always be seen with a joyful smile and a yarn to tell. Everyone who knew Bub would agree he never had a dislike for anyone and was always there to help. Surviving are his wife of 64 and a half years Frances Marie (Hatter), sons Bruce (Joy), Wylie (Faye) and Lee; daughters Diana (Dave) MacPhee and Annette (Carmen); sister Lois; brothers George and Alan; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Nelson. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Monday in the Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where a Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, February 19, 2013, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception area. Family flowers only by request. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, CNIB, or a charity of your choice.
