Obituary of Margaret Trethewey

TRETHEWEY, Margaret E. - 72, Fort Ellis, passed away at home with family by her side on August 20, 2013. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Annie (Grant) Gibbon. Margaret was an accountant at Dalhousie University and retired to look after her family. Margaret was a hobby farmer and enjoyed animals. She also enjoyed knitting, card making and played the piano in her earlier years. She loved spending time with her grandson Austin. Margaret is survived by her son Wade P.G. Trethewey, daughter Lisa B. Trethewey, (Frank Pye); grandson Austin W. Pye. She also leaves a large circle of close neighbours and friends in the community. She was predeceased by her husband Peter G. Trethewey, a brother Robert S. Gibbon. Visitation 6-9pm, Friday with funeral service 2pm, Saturday both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Marilyn MacDonald officiating. A reception to follow in the funeral home. A private interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
