SEYMOUR, Rudolph “Rudy” Steward - age 53 of Dutch Settlement passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on March 13, 2019.

Rudy was born in Isle Aux Morts, NL to Benjamin and Evelyn Seymour.

Rudy served as a communications radio operator in the Canadian Armed Forces for 13 years. Since a young age, Rudy had a passion for adventure and sports. His favorite hockey team was the Montreal Canadiens. Rudy enjoyed being around people, whether it was going home to NL for a July party, having a backyard BBQ or hopping on the 4-wheeler to go out with friends. The most important thing was that everyone was together having a great time.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Suzette Seymour; son, Benjamin Seymour (Alycia); daughter, Tiffany Seymour (Robert) and his grandson, Noah Park; sisters, Ada Walters-Maisie (Joshua), Sharmaine (Robert) Retieff, Marsha Seymour-Keeping (Craig); brother, Dennis Seymour (Pauline) and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A Celebration of Rudy’s Life will be held 2-5pm Saturday, March 23rd at his home.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Lamand and Nurse Jodie at the Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, the staff at the Palliative Care Unit, CEHHC, and to our niece, Alexis Walters for providing extra care in this time of need.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or Truro Hospice Society would be appreciated by the family.

Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Rudy may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
