THOMSON, Phyllis Bertha Edith - 83, Enfield, passed away peacefully August 26, 2013 at the Magnolia, Enfield. Born in Enfield on the family farm she was a daughter of the late Hall and Kathleen (Scott) Dorey. She attended Normal College in Truro and she had a successful teaching career for many years. She was a member of many women's groups in the Enfield area. She was an active member of the Cerebral Palsy Association for many years. She was a caring friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed their drives and visiting friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Heather Ballah, Lower Sackville; Beth Thomson, Halifax; son Scott (Marianna) Thomson, Enfield; grandchildren Sarah, Adam, Natalie and Michael; son in-law Peter Cantle, sister Lorna Higgins, Truro; brother Aubrey (Loretta) Dorey, Enfield; sister in-law Henrietta Dorey, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, daughter Kathy Cantle, son Donald Thomson and brother Gordon Dorey. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Thursday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral service 2pm, Friday in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale, Rev. Beth Brehaut officiating. Interment in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan. Memorial donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Magnolia.
