RUGGLES (Stewart), Margaret Mary of Middle Musquodoboit (Elmsvale), NS passed away at home on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the age of 97, with her loving family at her side. Margaret was born October 28, 1915 in Upper Musquodoboit to Robert C. and Josie M. (Hutchinson) Stewart. Margaret worked many years with her grandfather in the Post Office located in the Stewart Hotel in Upper Musquodoboit. She married Major T. Ruggles on May 11, 1938 and raised a family of four in the home she and Major built for their family which she resided in until her death. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, siblings Kathleen (Frank) Simpson, Douglas, Hazel (Lloyd) Deale, Ruth (Tom) Crocker, Earle (Betty), Jean (Hedley) Tree and son-in-law Joseph McCollum. Margaret is survived by her sister Shirley (David) Fulton; sister-in-law Mildred Stewart, her children Robert "Bob"(Catherine), Joyce (Henry) Miller, William "Bill" (Pamela) and Norma McCollum. She is also survived by grandchildren Barbara (Ed), Michael (Joan), Sharon (Norm), Stephen (Sharon), Juli (Vaughn), Mark (Segrid) and Derek (Heidi), three great grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, one great great granddaughter. Margaret will also be lovingly remembered by special friend Linda Dillman. She was a member of Riverside United Church and Elmview Rebekah Lodge-Middle Musquodoboit. Margaret loved to sew and was very proud of her Singer sewing machine. She also enjoyed knitting, playing Yahtzee, Cribbage, Scrabble, card games and family gatherings. Visitation will be 7-9pm Wednesday May 15 at Middleton United Church, Middle Musquodoboit, from where a funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday May 16, Rev. Annika Sangster officiating. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Middle Musquodoboit. Donations in memory of Margaret made be made to Middle Musquodoboit Volunteer Fire Department or Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Barry Giffin, Dr. Karen Fewer, Homecare Nurses, Homecare Support Workers and especially to Linda, Audrey and Robin.
