BROWN, SGT Aubrey Ralph , Retired - 78, Elmsdale formerly of Nine Mile River, passed away September 2, 2013, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII Site, Halifax. Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Ralph and Beatrice (Hillier) Brown. He started his career with the RCMP Marine Division for two years and then began a 34 year career with the Dartmouth Police Force. A former member of the Elmsdale Fire Department and a former president of Elmsdale Minor Hockey. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Marjorie, sons Raymond, Cooks Brook; David (Maureen), Nine Mile River; granddaughters Rachel and Erica; two great granddaughters Olivia and Taryn and four step grand children Kayla, John E, Euan and Aiden; sisters Kathleen (Lloyd) Latimer, Mary-Ellen (Albert) Isenor, Nancy (Al) Clair, Diane Rushton, Betty (Tom) Shute, Linda Duffy, Marion (John) Snow, Carolyn (Pat) Shreenan; brothers Dan (Marilyn) Brown, Laurie (Millie) Brown, Calvin (Valerie) Brown and Bruce (Sue) Brown; Aunt Hazel Mason; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers Monty and Bob. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Funeral service 2pm, Friday, September 6, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating.
