MALONEY-DEER, Brenda - 60, Indian Brook, passed away September 3, 2013 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Ida (Stephens) Maloney. She was a resident of Indian Brook for the past seventeen years. Brenda was a Residential School survivor, and known to many as one of the "twins". Brenda is survived by her daughter Maina Deer (Brian); grandchildren Dyson and Katrice; partner John Benjamin Paul Brooks the 1st; sisters Beverlie, Sharon, Audrey (Perry), Leeanne (Barry); brothers Sonny, Shawn (Tammy), step brothers Keith (Anita), Lorne (Michelle); several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased a brother Kenny. Visitation at the home of Leeanne, 563 Church Street, Indian Brook after 2pm today with funeral service 11 am, Saturday in St. Kateri Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Tom Kurudeepan O.M.I. officiating.
