ETTINGER, Maynard Thomas "Turtle", of Indian Brook, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 13, at home. Born in Latties Brook, he was a son of the late Edgar and Minnie (Reader) Ettinger. Maynard attended Vocational School in Windsor. He was a welder by trade, but was a carpenter for the past 25 years. He lived his life to the fullest. He was well known and loved by a lot of people. Maynard is survived by his daughter Stephanie Ettinger, Debert: son Joey Ettinger, Georgefield; siblings Debbie White (Melvin), Nine Mile River; Elaine Ettinger (Ernie), Goffs; Timmy Ettinger, Truro; Robie Ettinger (Karen), Shubenacadie; Michael Ettinger, Latties Brook; Helen Bernard (David), Indian Brook; half- brothers Bob and Gary Ettinger, Dartmouth; grandson Chanse Brown; also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by infant son Thomas Charles. Visitation 7-9pm, Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9pm, Thursday with funeral service 11am, Friday, February 20, all in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Father Tom Kurudeepan O.M.I. officiating. Interment in Five Mile River Cemetery. Reception to follow at Four Points Hall, Latties Brook. Donations in memory of Maynard may be made to the Five Mile River Cemetery.
