Obituary of Mabel McCulloch

McCULLOCH, Mabel Noreen, Shubenacadie. It is with deep sadness that, we, the family of Mabel Noreen (Gibson) McCulloch, announce her passing on January 26, 2015 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, at the age of 85. Mabel was born on July 10, 1929 in Kingston, ON, she was a daughter of the late William and Alma (Adrian) Gibson. Mabel married Beldon Lewis McCulloch in April 1951 in Kingston, Ontario, and moved to Shubenacadie in 1961. She became a member of the Shubenacadie United Church and the Shubenacadie UCW soon after her arrival in Shubenacadie. She would often be seen walking through her community. Mabel adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her children Judy (Gordon) Lawrence, Halifax; Stanley, Truro; Joanne (Charles) Joyce, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba; Teresa (Trevor) Franker, Valley; Cathy McCulloch, Brentwood and Stephen (Elizabeth), Shubenacadie East; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Beatrice (Marvin) Pounder, Beverley Hayes and Patricia Clarke; brother Fred (Betty) Gibson all of Kingston Ontario area; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother William Gibson, daughter in-law, Noreen. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home. No visitation or service by request. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Mabel's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
