GRAY (PEAKE), Ruth Marguerite, age 102 of Halifax, formerly of Enfield, passed away on January 15, 2015 in the Continuing Care Unit, VG Site, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Anne (Horne) Peake. Ruth, nicknamed "Super Aunt Ruth", was a free loving spirit to all. Ruth danced to the music of life in awe and wonder, making friends in an instant. Ruth was game for anything from swimming, skating, bowling, gardening and much more. Ruth enjoyed knitting, especially the finger puppets she knitted for children at the IWK. Every encounter would leave you feeling loved and better about life. She was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Gray; sisters, Eleanor, Margaret, Loretta and Mary Agnes; brothers, Clement, Charles, Andy and William. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of Ruth's life will begin at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass to be held 10am Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Rev. Mike Walsh officiating. The interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Ruth's family would like to acknowledge the exceptional compassionate care given to her by the staff of 4B Continuing Care Unit.
