McPHEE, Cleta "Marguerite" - 85, Upper Nine Mile River/ Upper Rawdon/ Truro,
Passed away peacefully with companion Earl at her side in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, Wednesday December 10, 2014. It is with profound sadness I announce the passing of my beloved mother, my friend, my confidante, my rock to hold in the storm, my guide in life to love and share. Mum was so kind, so gentle, warm, loyal, loving and generous to a point she would give to others and take from herself. She began her life in Upper Nine Mile River, the first daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Parker) Wright. Her beautiful face and warm love for friends and neighbors made her a joy to befriend. Mum was a hairdresser, seamstress, worked at Cara and spent 30 years of loving service at Scotia Nursing Homes as a PCW always caring for the residents over and above what she had to do. She was a very patient teacher to those she trained. Her main goal in life was to be a loving mother - she was the very best - thank you mum for my life as your daughter.
Mum is survived by me, her daughter Brenda, son-in-law Stanley, whom she loved as her son; loyal companion of 47 years, Earl MacLeod; grandson Shayne (Kate) White and great granddaughters Aidyn Elizabeth and Sydney Marguerite, grandson Todd (Kelly) McPhee and great grandchildren Ryan and Laura, granddaughters Erin Marguerite (Jesse) Sutherland and Kimberley (Scott) Fleck and great grandson Evan; sisters Audrey Fraser, Mary White and Rosalie Blois, sister-in-law Betty Wright; and many nieces and nephews. Mum was predeceased by her husband Stuart McPhee, son Wayne McPhee, brothers Edson and Norman Wright, sister Doreen Currie, brothers -in -law Tony White, Franklin Blois, James Currie, sister-in-law Roberta Wright. To each and every one who truly loved and cared for Mum at Wynn Park Villa, Earl and I thank you - Mum is at peace now, those beautiful eyes will be watching over you.
No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2pm, Sunday, December 14, in St. James Presbyterian Church, Noel Road, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Interment at a later date.
Donations in Mum's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society. Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Marguerite may be shared with the family at: www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go
For this is a journey, we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
Bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go
