Obituary of Shawn Gillespie

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shawn Patrick Gillespie, of Millbrook, on December 2nd 2014 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland on June 25th 1962, he was the son of the late Raymond and Martha (Gaul) Gillespie. Shawn spent many years working for The National Gypsum Company. He loved to spend time building anything and everything in his shed. Shawn was a very loving person and enjoyed the little things in life. He always wore a smile and had a genuine passion for helping others. Family was the most important thing in his life. Shawn is survived by his spouse, Martha Brooks, sons Matthew and Michael, step-children Rose, Jacqueline and John, grandchildren Makalya, Victor, Martha Rose, Anthony and Maggie, siblings Frank(Ben) of Vancouver, Terry(Pam) of Lansdale, PA, Cathy(Jim) of Moncton, nephews, Joseph, Brendan, Colin and Sean and his niece Martha. Visitation will be held Friday, beginning at 2pm, at 30 Martin Crescent, Millbrook. A Funeral service will be held 11:30am Saturday at The Sacred Heart Church, Millbrook, Father Darius Miskowicz presiding. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Epilepsy Canada. Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Shawn may be shared with the family at ettingerfuneralhome.com
