PAUL, Annie Theresa, Indian Brook, November 17 1927 - October 27, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie "Ronnie" Paul (86) of Indian Brook. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Alfreda (Sack) Bernard. Annie Ronnie as she was known to many, owned an operated a successful store for many years. She was also very particular about her basket and wooden flower skills. In 2005 she was awarded the Ulnooweg Atlantic Entrepreneur Woman of the Year Award for her store and flower making abilities. Her wooden flowers have been sent all over including to the Pope. Recently she was featured in a colouring book produced by the Mi'kmaw Conservation Group. Annie was a faithful member of the St Kateri Roman Catholic Church and a lady of St Anne's. She often hosted the prayer group at her home. She also taught catechism for many years as well. Annie also loved to go to bingo and she loved her babies (her pets) as she called them. If you were a child who grew up in the community, you have many wonderful memories of Aunt Annie. You always knew that you would be welcomed into her home and store. Memories include getting extra candy and lots of love. As these children grew to have their own, special trips to Annie Ronnie's store was a stop for making more happy memories. Annie is survived by her many nieces and nephews as well as many godchildren. She is also survived by sisters in law, Patricia (Douglas) Bernard, Gloria (Wilkie) Bernard and Mary Lou (Marty) Bernard and Geno (John) Knockwood. She was predeceased by her parents, her son David "Cowboy" Paul and her husband Ronnie. She also was predeceased by her brothers, John, Bill, Marty, Doug, Huey and Gordon and sisters Gladys, Diane, Louise and her special aunts "Aunt Libby and Aunt Gudd" Special thanks to Cheryl Peter Paul who was her caregiver the past few years and to David her nephew who helped her for the past few years and made sure she was taken care of. Visitation will take place 6-9pm Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A funeral mass will be held 11am Saturday, at St Kateri's Church, Indian Brook, Father Tom Kurudeepan OMI officiating. Burial will be in the community cemetery, Salite to follow.
