Obituary of Gerald Richardson

RICHARDSON, Gerald Allen William - 74 - son of the late William Richardson and Dorothy Mae Barr, died suddenly at home on September 8, 2014. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean MacKinnon, in-laws Roger and Jane (Brenton) MacKinnon, Falmouth; good friends Terry and Mary Henderson and their children and families, Brookfield; 2 cousins and their families in the Truro area; 2 cousins and their families in Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his cousin Owen J. Barr, in whose house he resided and brother in-law Keith MacKinnon. Gerald worked for Air Canada Cargo for 28 years. In his retirement, he took up genealogy, amassing 8500 names in the Barr, Grant, Roulston and Scott families of East Hants and beyond. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 2p.m Friday September 12 at the Shubenacadie United Church, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the East Gore Cemetery. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Shumilacke Food Bank or a charity of choice.
