Obituary of Peter Kempton

KEMPTON, Peter Dwight -58, Dartmouth, died Saturday September 21, 2013 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Purney and Frances (Colp) Kempton. Peter was an auto mechanic all of his working life. He loved deer hunting, fishing, being at the camp and Saturday night poker games. When Peter was not doing these thing he could be found at the Hub Too with friends who had a special place in his heart. He will be sadly missed by daughters, Shannon Kempton (Kevin Noseworthy), Gays River; Carinna(Mark) Ladouceur and grandson Nathan Davis Ladouceur, all of Lower Sackville; sisters, Mildred (Bob) Hawkes, Caledonia, Queens Co.; Ruth (Fred) Hawkes, Harmony, Queens Co.; Isabel (Reginald "Sonny") Jones, Wileville; brother, Lincoln Kempton, Harmony Mills; foster sisters, Rhonda, Donna and Priscilla; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward and a great nephew, Brandon Wentzell. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Kempt United Baptist Church, Highway 8, Caledonia, Queens Co., Rev. John Boddy officiating. Family flowers only, memorial contributions may be made to any family member to assist with Peter's final expenses.
