Obituary of Veronica Smiley

SMILEY, (OSBORNE), Veronica "Bonnie" Helena, Enfield. With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Veronica "Bonnie" Helena (Osborne) Smiley, born May 31, 1922. Surrounded by her family, God took Mum home on April 27, 2014 in her 91st year to rest with him and be reunited with her first and only love, our Dad, Frank Smiley who entered heaven March 1, 1986. Mum was the daughter of the late Frances Osborne who Mum cared for all her life. She always thought her greatest gift in life was her children; daughters Frances Lattie of Sudbury, ON; Florence Daigle-Day (Harvey), Enfield; son Walter (Ruby), Hantsport. She is very proud of her grandchildren Kim, Jennifer, Craig, Chris, Krista, Heather, Patrick, Jeffery and Nick as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Mum lived in Enfield all her life and was a member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. Special thanks to Mum's friends Bea, Frances, Marian, Sheila and Beverly. Your kindness will always be remembered. Thanks to Ida Dillman for her special care and concern. Also, Flo Sheilds who was Mum's oldest and dearest friend. Finally, thank you to Dr. Bruce Montgomery, the wonderful staff of the VON and Palliative Care. We could not have done without you. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:45am Thursday May 1, at St. Bernard's followed by a funeral mass at 11am, Father Frank Pellerin officiating. Donations can be made to the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society. When you see the brightest star in the sky tonight this will be our Mum smiling down saying, "Don't cry I am with you in your heart."
