Obituary of Sandra Jane McDonald

McDONALD, Sandra Jane – 66, of Indian Brook passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lena (Bernard) Doucette.

Sandra spent her working career as a care worker for the community. She enjoyed attending the surrounding Pow Wow’s, going to Bingo, visiting family in PEI and Cape Breton, going to Sainte Anne de Beaupre, Quebec. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and her friends. She enjoyed making crafts in her spare time. She was always ready to help or drive those in the community. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Duncan (Krissy) McDonald, Tina (Alexander) Julien, Lena McDonald, Sam McDonald, Billy Roy (Marissa) McDonald, siblings, sister Christine (Terry) Doucette, brother, Norman (Amy) Bernard, 31 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two God children Clarence Evans and Laycia Syliboy.

She was predeceased by her husband Duncan William McDonald, daughters, Norma Jean and Shirley McDonald, sons David McDonald, stepson, Dennis Evans, granddaughter, Santanah Lee McDonald-Paul.

Visitation will take place on Monday, November 25, from 6 – 8 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2. Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will be at 11am Wednesday at St. Kateri R. C. Church, Indian Brook. Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Cremation to follow. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Donations may be made to the Diabetes association of Nova Scotia.
