Ian and Jean were neighbors for 25 years. We lived just up the hill from them. One of my most vivid memories was of the kind and gentle nature of this couple. In example, we owned a boxer dog named Buster. Not to be confused with my late father-in-law Buster Grant, as Buster the dog came with that name.
Buster the dog had a great disposition, was very lovable and enjoyed having lots of fun. This meant running down the hill to visit at Ian and Jean's house and most particularly with their German Shepherd Dog whose name escapes me. And as much as we tried to keep him in our own yard, he would undoubtedly sneak down to play with his friend for a short time every day. They would run out to the marsh and chase each other around in typical dog fashion having loads of fun. Ian and Jean never complained and in fact, even had a lawn chair for Buster next to his German Shepard friend on their balcony.
Buster was the best dog friend I ever had and he was with me for 15 years. The vet attributed this old dog age and gentle disposition to lots of love. Ian and Jean played a significant part through their kindness to Buster who had been an abandoned dog before we got him. I will always remember and be thankful for our loving and kind neighbours. May Ian rest peacefully. Extending sincere condolences to Jean and all of the family.
