Obituary of Margaret Mary Adams

ADAMS, Margaret Mary (MacDowell) – age 97 of Enfield. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret on May 1st, 2023, in Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield. Born in Enfield, Margaret was a daughter of the late J. Allen and Mary (Horne) MacDowell.

Margaret held numerous jobs over the years from looking after children to working as a retail sales clerk. She enjoyed camping at Sullivan’s Campground for many summers, playing cards, knitting, crocheting and gardening. Margaret was an excellent cook and baker and took great enjoyment in her family. She was a lifetime member of The Ladies Auxiliary at the Enfield Legion, Branch 133, and was a member of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church in Enfield.

Margaret is survived by sons, Keith, Pat (Brenda), Jim (Jocelyn); grandchildren, Shannon (Dawn), Jennifer, Trisha, Scott (Kate), Nicolle; niece, Patsy; 14 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Austin; siblings, John, Roy, Frances, Helen, Andrew, Leo, Frank; daughter-in-law, Fay.

Margaret will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 133, 50 Old Enfield Road, Enfield. A private interment will take place at a later date.
