Obituary of Larry Patrick Rafters
RAFTERS, Larry Patrick – age 76 of Alton, passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2023, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was a son to the late Lawrence and Mary Rafters.
Larry and Connie were married for 7 years which was not long enough, but in that short time they showed each other how much they loved each other and made a lifetime of memories. Larry loved his family with all his heart and showed them all the time. When Larry loved you, his love was fierce. He loved his woodworking that he did with his wife; they would make Christmas ornaments just to see people smile and make them happy. He loved to travel across the country or just go for a drive and have a picnic with his wife. Larry will be truly missed and always loved.
Larry is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Connie (Mel); son, Kent; stepsons, Terry (Krista) and Phillip (Linda); grandchildren and great children and many extended family members.
Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by grandson, Tyler; stepchildren, Tim and Tracey; two loved pets, Tinker and Buddy; siblings, Teresa, Marilyn, Doug, Cyril, Frank, David.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of the palliative care unit of the Colchester East Hans Health Centre as well as the VON nurses and Homecare staff.
