Obituary of Carolyn Anne Johnson
Carolyn (Lynn) Johnson - age 85, passed away on Monday the 16 day of January 2023, in Enfield NS. Carolyn was born in Sydney, NS, on Dec 21, 1937, to the late John C. and Kathleen Johnson, and spent her first 13 years there before the family moved to Annapolis Royal in 1950.
Graduating from Acadia University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics, she taught Home Ec. for 6 years in Bridgewater before moving to Pictou County where she lived for about 14 years before moving to Wolfville for a time, then to Montreal for a number of years and finally to Wolfville once more where she eventually retired from the Vaughan library at Acadia University and moved to Enfield.
She is survived by sons Jim (Lisa) Fraser in Enfield; Bruce Fraser in Edmonton; grandson Cameron and granddaughter Harper.
Carolyn was a musician in her early years, playing piano and singing in choirs and choral groups. She was also a gifted artist in both drawing and painting.
She enjoyed writing very much and wished to thank the members of her online writing group “Upper Branches” for all their comradery over many enjoyable years.
Her sons want to thank the Ladies at Enfield Manor who watched out for Carolyn in the last few years she lived there and were such good-hearted neighbors during her whole time there. We also want to thank all the staff at The Magnolia in Enfield and especially all who took such wonderful care of Carolyn in Honeysuckle Cottage these last 5+ years. Your kindness was such a gift and your extraordinary efforts to keep her and all your residents safe during the Covid crisis will never be forgotten!
Cremation has taken place and, in accordance with Carolyn’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers or donations, we encourage acts of kindness to members of your local community.
